NITA 2017

Nita is a field blend of 60% Saperavi and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Grapes were hand harvested the 15th of September 2017. The vintage was affected by hail storm at fruit set and drought after veraison giving a lot of concentration to berries.

After meticulous sorting, 80 % of the destemmed harvest and the remaining of whole cluster fermented in Qvevri for 3 weeks on its indigenous yeast. Gentle punch downs and pump over were done during the fermentation.

The wine has been racked to an old French oak barrel to achieve malolactic fermentation and will age slowly for another 6 months.

The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered with a minimal amount of So2.

Production : 290 bottles

Tasting notes

In the glass, a moderate red color with purple hue. On the nose, lots of promises which offers blackberry jam, licorice, spices and tobacco backed up by red fruits and smooth tannins.

Medium bodied red wine, very fresh and delicate with a crisp and sapy finish. A wine with great personality and depth.
