MARTA 2018
Change of direction for Marta 2018, we made an experimentation with Tsitska instead of Chinuri for vintage 2017.
Tsitska is rarely made according to Kakhetian method (6 months skin contact). We wanted to see if this grape that give beautiful direct pressed wines could also give good result with Amber wine.
We were not disapointed !!!
100% of the grapes were put in Qvevri with skins and stems for 6 months.
In March 2019, we pressed them and racked it to an old 350L French barrel for a further ageing of 1 year.
The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered with a minimal amount of So2.
Marta is definitely a Georgian wine but has Italian and Slovenian influences in the making which make it completely unique in Georgia.
Production : 460 bottles
Tasting notes
In the glass, a deep amber color.
On the nose , the wine shows some earthy notes, liquorice, dried almonds and abricots
The mouth is textural, fresh and complex, lemons with dried apricots supported by hints of acacia honey.
Long and bright finish that highlights wine’s sapidity and soul.
