EXILE ON CAUCASUS 2018

Exile On Caucasus is an amber wine made of 90% Rkatsiteli and 10% Mstvane.
Grapes come from Chumlaki in Kakheti and were hand harvested the 15th of September 2018.
2018 was a good vintage, summer was relatively warm but with good amount of rain.
Half of the harvest was destemmed and put in Qvevri with skins.
The remaining half was pressed and after a light “debourbage” added to the Qvevri.
This wine is a crossroad between Georgian and French winemaking traditions. After a 2 weeks maceration on skins the wine was racked to old French oak barrel and Qvevri to finish fermentations and to age slowly.
The wine was bottled unfined with a minimal amount of So2.
Some Qvevri of the final blend went through of coarse filtration.
In case of a natural deposti, we recommend to decant Exile on Caucasus 30 minutes before to serve.
Production : 1400 bottles
